Mumbai ready to swing with Shakira

It's time to swing with Shakira, as the star gets set to perform in Mumbai this weekend.

Preparations are on in full swing before she comes swinging at the MMRDA grounds.

Latina Diva Shakira arrives in Mumbai on Saturday and her concert is slated for Sunday.

Over 200 people are working 9 am to 2 am to get everything ready for the hip swinger and her over 15,000 fans.

Apart from Shakira and the dancers that will accompany her, there are going to be many other attractions in the show.

Two giant LED screens will on display on either side of the ground and for the first time a light matrix will be on.

Higher pricing

The flip side tickets are pegged at Rs 3,650 and Rs 2,650. But organisers insist it has been done for a reason.

"See a happening international star will cost more plus we want to regulate the crowd and pricing plays an important role here," said Venkatavaradan, Managing Director, DNA Networks.

While Shakira is yet to land in the city hips are already swinging.

Belly dancing

Many have taken up belly dancing after watching Shakira's first video.

"She's a huge influence and I love watching her dance," said Shreya, a dancer.

"Belly dancing became popular only after people watched Shakira do it," said Ketki, another dancer.

While the diva yet to perform, the Shakira fever has caught on already with people in India.
